Exercise Description

estrellaThe equipment is placed on the field as indicated in image number 1.

estrellaThe players are positioned on the field as indicated in image number 2.

estrellaWhen the instructor blows the whistle, the referee and the assistant referee begin to perform the exercise as indicated in the numerical sequence. The referee finishes in the optimal position to view the action.

estrellaA corner kick is taken at the sound of the whistle. There are three attacker-defender pairs in the penalty area. One of the players commits a foul.

estrellaOnce the action is finished, the referee and the assistant referee cool down for the indicated time and perform the same exercise in the opposite direction.

estrellaThe work with the assistant referees is carried out on both sides of the field and starts simultaneously, but only the assistant referee concerned takes part in the technical decisions.

Referee

Physical Area

The referee starts the exercise from cone nº 1 with a forward run (10 m) to the first agility pole, followed by a slalom run between the five agility poles placed 2m apart. He continues with a forward run (10 m) to cone nº 2, followed by a rightwards side run (5 m) to cone nº 3, a leftwards side run (5 m) to the cone nº 4, and a backwards run (5 m) to cone nº 5. He ends by passing through the cones on the halfway line towards the decision-making area.

Technical Area

The referee positions himself inside the penalty area, in a position that allows him to control all the players. He then signals for the kick to be taken. Infringements are penalized and appropriate disciplinary sanctions given (when necessary).

Psychological Area

The referee signals for infringements occurring inside the area and indicates the foul committed by an attacking or defending player. This random circumstance forces the referee to overcome stimuli ambiguity, by increasing his concentration and, thus, readapting his mental game scheme to every change that occurs in the field.

Assistant Referee

Physical Area

The assistant referee starts the exercise from cone nº 1 (5 m from the halfway line) with a forward run (10 m) to the first agility pole, followed by a slalom run between the five agility poles placed 2 m apart. He continues with a forward run (10 m) to cone nº 2, followed by a sideways run facing the field (5 m) to cone nº 3. He finishes with a forward run towards the decision-making area.

Technical Area

The assistant referee helps the referee to decide whether an infringement has been committed. Where appropriate, he signals the infringement accordingly.

Psychological Area

The assistant referee helps the referee to decide whether an infringement has been committed. Where appropriate, he signals the infringement accordingly.

Players

Technical Area

In one half of the field of play the corner kick shall be taken from the side of the field of play nearest to the assistant referee. The player taking the corner shall kick the ball into the penalty area where three of his colleagues challenge three defending players. One player commits an offence before/during/after the ball has been kicked.

In the other half of the field of play the same task is performed except, on this occasion, the corner kick shall be taken from the side opposite the assistant referee.

Psychological Area

The players follow the instructor’s directions and act as attackers or defenders on a random basis.

Instructors

Physical Area

The instructor blows the whistle at 30 second intervals, coordinates the groups taking part in the exercise and controls the execution of the exercise technique.

Technical Area

The instructor positions himself in the vicinity of the penalty area, as close as possible to the referee, from where he can check and evaluate the actions, control and instruct the players for each exercise and make the relevant observations.

Psychological Area

The instructor checks that the exercise is performed correctly and makes the relevant corrections.
