The players are positioned on the field as indicated in image number 2.
When the instructor blows the whistle, the referee and the assistant referee begin to perform the exercise as indicated in the numerical sequence.
When the referee crosses the halfway line, the instructor makes another signal with the whistle for the players to start the action.
A player makes a long pass to any of the two pairs of players situated near the assistant referee. One of the players challenging for the ball commits a foul.
Once the action is finished, the referee and the assistant referee cool down for the indicated time and perform the same exercise in the opposite direction.
The work with the assistant referees is carried out on both sides of the field and starts simultaneously, but only the assistant referee concerned takes part in the technical decisions.
The referee starts the exercise from cone nº 1 with a backwards run (15 m) to cone nº 2, followed by a rightwards side run (10 m) to cone nº 3, and comes back to cone nº 2 with a leftwards side run (10 m). He ends with a forward run, passing between the two cones on the halfway line towards the decision-making area.
The referee, helped by the assistant referee, penalizes infringements committed by the players in accordance with the Laws of the Game.
As soon as the referee crosses the halfway line, he makes a complete turn before continuing his normal run.
The assistant referee starts the exercise from cone nº 1 (5m from the halfway line) with a forward run (15 m) to cone nº 2, followed by a side run (5 m) facing the field to cone nº 3, and comes back to cone nº 2 facing the field with a 5 m side run. He finishes with a forward run to the decision-making area.
The assistant referee helps the referee to identify fouls committed in his working area and signals them appropriately in accordance with the Laws of the Game.
When the referee is going between the cones on the halfway line, a player situated close to the touchline passes the ball towards 2 attackers and 2 defenders positioned close to the assistant referee. One of these players commits a foul.
The players start the action as soon as the referee crosses the halfway line.
The instructor blows the whistle at 30 second intervals, coordinates the groups taking part in the exercise and controls the execution of the exercise technique.
The Instructor positions himself outside the field of play, on that part of the goal line closest to the assistant referee, from where he makes the relevant observations.
The instructor checks and reinforces the teams’ work and confidence.
